Established in 1950, the Benton Golf and Country Club began when 100 local businessmen purchased the land that now makes up the front nine holes. As the club’s founding investors, these individuals were granted memberships, establishing a legacy that continues to this day.
In 1990, the club expanded by leasing land from Dr. Jerry Sells and Mr. Bill Morgan to create the back nine, transforming the course into a full 18-hole experience. This expansion was a pivotal moment, allowing the club to offer a more comprehensive golfing experience.
Today, the Benton Golf and Country Club has grown to include 170 active certified memberships and over 100 additional playing memberships. Certified members enjoy full ownership and voting rights, while playing members receive all the same benefits minus these privileges. Interestingly, the club still holds five inactive memberships from the original 100, adding a unique historical element to its membership roster.
