The mission of Kentucky State Parks is to protect and preserve the natural beauty of Kentucky. Unlike many functional amenities at Land Between the Lakes, Windows on the Water is designed to be completely sympathetic to its surroundings. The restaurant is made from post and beams, with high ceilings and, as the name suggests, three and a half acres of glass.

Windows on the Water is a full-service, 331-seat restaurant where Chef Hattie serves up good old country cooking. One of the house’s real treats is the Kentucky Hot Brown, an open sandwich topped with baked ham, roasted turkey, mornay sauce, tomato, bacon, and cheddar cheese, toasted until the cheese is bubbly.
